 I know - like they weren't already. The Virginia Supreme Court struck down a state law which forbid unmarried people to have sex. The Virginia High Court's decision was based in part on the SCOTUS ruling last year which struck down Texas's sodomy law.

I applaud this decision although I was quite surprised by it.

    :bnghd:

Years and years ago a small county prosecutor in Idaho began prosecuting teens who were pregnant, not married and getting public assistance. If I remember right three girls were charged with having sex outside the bonds of marriage.

Some of the archaic laws on the books in various states even today are quite shocking.
