We all strive to achieve an absolute level. As different as we all are, achieving means different things to us all. Some want to be physicists, some want to teach. Others want to build the perfect program and push Microsoft over the edge.
Still, in our pursuits we select refernce groups, or "types" that we aspire to be.
What groups do you all reference?
I'll give you mine to start. I'm a student of Psychology, so naturally Carl Rogers, Jung, Freud, and Dorthea Dix would encompass that part of my particular choosing. I also have profound respect for JFK, MLK, Nixon, Wayne Gretzky, Mikeal Gorbachev, Neils Bohr, and Edward Van Halen.

A lover of history and/or the human condition - Steven Ambrose, Sydney Shanberg, Chris Hitchens (for social commentary) and the like are a must. To balance that I tend to unwind and decompress with Larry the Cable Guy, discovery channel or a Jane Austen novel. And you can never go wrong with a little Mozart and 50s classics.

I'll have to look into Chris Hitchens, thanks for the input. Y.W.
