...from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
    The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying:
    Valhalla, I am coming!

    -Immigrant Song, Led Zeppelin

Just letting you know that the Norwegian has arrived here.

I was asked by a woman once where the Norwegian salmon I was serving was from (restaurant guy in my former life) .

    I told her Norwegia !

She thanked me and stuffed some $$ in the tip jar...

    Welcome Norway !

    Love the Zeppelin quote...

Welcome, you can convert your currency to Iggies at the booth on the left, enjoy your stay, and take lots of pictures. ;)

Hmmm. Currency? Iggies? Do you take Norwegian Kroner? (heh)
Is currency the same as points? How do I get them (by posting I guess). I can´t seem to find this in the FAQ. What are iggies useful for?

No points and no prizes other than increasing your knowledge and sharing yours with others . Iggies are like applause , I have one for trodding my foes in a game we have here and Icewolf has his(5?) for a great physics 101 course .

    Is Kroner a beer ?

    Thanks for the info.

Kroner is the Norwegian Currency (like dollars)...

Here is an example of a norwegian beer... Arctic beer from Mack

"the first beer at both the North Pole and the South Pole"...

hehe, it´s Tom Waits. Slightly edited and slowed down (I´m sorry Tom, I hope you´ll forgive me...).

Just Another Dime Store Novel (Waits 1977)

"Earl was one of my aliases at the time, you see. I was traveling under the name of Earl Scheib, maybe you've heard of me? Well anyhow, to make a long story short, I threw in with these Italian guys in Montabello."

I hope you'll forgive me but I'm bugging right now. I had such a thing for him when he was an actor back in the 80's ( Buck Merrill/The Outsiders, Irving Stark/The Cotton Club) - I had no idea he was so accomplished in other fields as well.

Thanks for posting that Hellmutt - you took me back.

Bleys, I´m a big Tom Waits fan. I got almost all of his albums. Thanks for the welcome, Icewolf and oddtodd. Zsandmann, you said "pictures"... Here´s a picture of Hellmutt (yes, it was in the early 70´s). Picture taken by Hellmutt´s dad. I like stormy weather...

hey hellmutt... Welcome to your little world. I am planning on going to Norway in the next few years. A friend just went there and brought back the BEST SAUSAGE I have ever tasted!!! I could not stop eating it! I will make a trip to get 50 packs of it.... BWAHAHA BTW... I also come from the land of ice and snow (in America) yes, Alaska....... I love the ice and snow. My daughters name is Yuki .... in Japanese means "snow" and yes, she is a figure skater as well .......... Love the winter weather!

    Welcome and enjoy!

That is until Helmutt told him the contents of said sausage. :o *shivers*

btw - I don't actually know what's in them, but I think there may be a reason that we never hear about those reindeer who fail the Santa school of flying.
