    Feedin\' Snakes !

Just went to the pet store for kitty supplies and it was the
weekly mouse feed for the snakes . I watched for an hour , milk snakes , a rock python , a green wiggler that I forget the name of .

It was over very quick for the meeses , not cruel at all . Watching the jaw unhinge was the wierd part to watch and it is amazing how much they can swallow .

WAY COOL but i forgot the cat stuff and had to go back......

Discovery channel live at your local pet store , call ahead for feeding times !

I too am obsessed with ' The Feeding' but my wife cant stand it. My question is how can you afford pet store food? We buy in bulk at Sams Club, now I know Sams is all that is wrong with commercialism in America but its cheap.

Kitty is 16 (17 in April) , a diabetic , one tooth left on the right side of his head (left is full) , had an infection around his private parts that ended up needing the WHOLE private part removed ($ 1600 bucks and he looks like a girl cat from the back , lucky I live so close to SanFrancisco:lol: )

So to answer your question Z : I live alone and he is my best friend , no expenses spared ! works out to 2 bucks a day for special food , the alternaive was daily insulin shots .

I'll admit a fascination for watching snakes feed - but only rats. I cannot watch anything bigger (ok anything cute) fed to them. I used to try and talk Seth into a Boa but he's a reptile hater (ok he's really terrified) and swore it would eat our cats.

BTW OT - Your cat is great. It's easy to guess who runs your household. All he needs is a remote and corona to complete the picture.

I work for a vet, and I have to say that we see a lot of owners that aren't half as devoted as you. Having The Surgery done (I'm fairly certain you described a Perianal Urethrostomy, although at the clinic I work at we sympathetically refer to it as a Poor You  ) is often the last straw when owners "give up", even though it's a really standard procedure and has a great success rate...anyway, just felt the need to comment, it sounds like your cat is very lucky to own such a dedicated person.

I used to own two beautiful corn snakes and feeding them was always fascinating to watch. In the UK though it's illegal to feed live food, just as well as I wouldn't have kept them if they needed live food. Snakes can actually go for ages without food (not water). That's not to say you shouldn't feed them less than once a week.
