I love to play chess but had to start from scratch as there were so few chess resources available, could we maybe have some sort of chess discussion?

Chess, I'm against its rule. Actually, the one who study all famous moves have greater advantage over those that doesn't. :(

How about a mixture of chess resources and friendly discussion on the subject?

That would be kool, but It may be costly, no?
But if there was we could have three threads

    1. Friendly chat about the game.
    2. Lecture type thread for people to teach.
    3. Resource thread for information.

    It would be quite interesting.

Ok. First make a poll and see how many are interested in Chess. Then we can start teaching all the rules. Rules are important. Later they can walk on their own. Then we can play online elsewhere.

Then come back and discuss the war that took place.

And we can post some interesting quote about war or chess in general. Like:

Only the dead have seen the end of war - plato. (i'm paraphasing... not sure if that's the exact quote).

I haven't a clue how to start a poll, could you arrange that tablet although I could set up the resource thread?
We could have our own ID Chess team which could play on a site?

that would be good for demonstrating pins, hidden attacks etc, as well as how the pieces basically move, like have a bishop in the middle of the board with dots showing where it can move?

Don't underestimate me because I'm 12, I beat my Grandpa when I was 11, and Dad didn't beat him until he was 39! So, watch out! :D

I love to plass chess, though my specialty is in Checkers. I haven't played in forever, since about 6th grade. I remember at that time I was like, awesome at Chess. I beat the kid, who beat the kid that was county champion, so I guess that made me County Champion!

Anyway, if any of you play Chess on Pogo.com or on GameSpy Arcade... you should send me a U2U and maybe we can play sometime.
