We have just had a big off shore earthquake...7.2 magnitude..felt as far away as New Plymouth which is 1274 kilometres (790 miles) away

it was very rolling, lasted about 40 seconds

I hope everything is ok there Helen.

    Any aftershocks?
    Damage?
    Tsunami?
    grey reptilian sightings?

the epicentre was quite a way from me, it was just very rolling in Christchurch

if it had happened closer an earthquake of that magnitude woud have caused critical damage...luckily my understanding damage is minimal
