A thread for all original photos of space.

My first attempt at a moon shot.

    Canon 50D
    300m lense
    f5.6
    1/400
    Manual mode

Kinda experimenting with settings. Not real happy with the exposure or granularity. Tried on 1/100 but since using a telephoto lense, couldnt get the shutter down to f4.0.

Anyway, slightly adjusted brightness and contrast, and cropped....

Wanted to keep messing with the settings to get it as finely detailed as possible and try different settings, but ran out of moon from clouds. Will try again soon.

Doesn't infinite focus work best with landscape or faraway shots?

To get a good clear shot of the Moon you may need a tripod, an apparatus that follows the Moon, and time exposure, or a special filter(polarized, anti-glare) .

You might look for a website where they not only show their amazing pics but also all their amzing settings and equipment used.

I do use a tripod, was expeimenting with shutter speeds and apature settings, but the dern clouds came and got in the way. Oh well.

And yes, infinite focus. Am going to try again tonight when (if) the moon comes out.
