    Big Grin Killin' Dandilions....Ohh...Deee...Ohh

Love the 2-4-D Amine. This stuff rocks.

I use about 8 oz. in 3 gallons of water in a sprayer with the 65% stuff.

If you have dandilions, use this twice a year, and you will greatly diminish them.
It kills all broadleaf's and leaves fescue's alone.

But I warn you, too hot (more than 8oz per 3gal), and you WILL burn your grass.

Nice! Always looking to get rid of those darn flowers... How does it hold up if you happen to have a neighbor that is infested?

The people across the street from me raise dandilions, with the occasional sprig of grass.

I have used this stuff since I was first told about it three years ago,..and now I am down to about half a dozen at spring, soon killed.

I get it at the local IFA, you wont find it at walmart or home depot. http://ifa-coop.com/

I buy a gallon of the stuff, read the label CAREFULLY. It lasts me about two years using 2 or three times a year.

Good stuff. I will get you the brand name of the product tomorrow.

This is specifically what I use...
    http://www.albaughinc.com/detailers/pd_24d_amine4.htm
    AgriStar 2,4-D Amine 4

I got a 3 gallon backpack sprayer with pump handle. It comes with a spray nozzle about 4 feet long. Cost me about 30 bucks I think.

Like I said, I mix in a gallon of water into the sprayer, then add the 8oz of 2,4-d and add two more gallons. Makes a good mix.

Mostly I spot spray. I do soak the dandilions, as well as clover and any other broadleaf I find.
It doesnt kill your grass unless you burn it by too strong a mixture, also doesnt kill the crabgrass or prarie grass, but that is a different issue.

Anyway, use it only after two days have passed since mowing, with two more days before your next mowing.
Also dont spray unless two days after watering or rain, and plan for no watering or rain two days after.

    Both for effectiveness.

You will see results by next spring, and even better if you keep it up.

    Important info,...

If you research what this is you will find out that this is one of the two components of Agent Orange. The good thing is this is not the bad component. That said, I like to lock up the dog and keep the girls out of the yard for at least an hour or two just to be safe, and to make sure it is dried. Has a bit of lingering smell to it too. Also, and this isnt commonly known, this is one of the secret ingrediants of the guys from Chem-Lawn go around spraying lawns with. They dont want you to know you can do this yourself as they would be out of 50 bucks a month lol.

Basically what this stuff does to plants it targets, is it forces them into overgrow mode, basically causing it to grow itself to death. So day one, it may look like the plants really liked it and grew like crazy. But day two or three, you will start to see the carnage happening.

I don't spray for dandilions because herbicides are a danger to children. Never spray where children play. Front yard, maybe ok. Back yard, never. Herbicides effect the growth of trees and I have planted a few. If you stunt your trees don't be surprised if one falls on the house.

    Too true bode.

When I spray, I pay close attention not to sprey neer tree roots or other plants I wish to keep.

And my girls are at young adult age anymore, and no longer go froliching around in the backyard grass. Actually, I am fortunate to even see them out of their rooms. And their rooms can be considered hazmat locations.

Maybe another treatment soon, but gotta be careful about this.
