A World of Conflicting Realities...

I-Dosers

Rate this Entry
The world is full of a lot of substance abuse these days. Thousands of varieties of drugs dominate the markets for those truly desperate for that slight high. Crack, Marijuana, LSD, and... sound?

It may be hard to believe but one companies claims are exactly that. They are in the business of selling I-Dosers; binaural tones which affect how your brain processes your surroundings and the input of your senses. They have even specialized them to have the same, though admittedly weaker, affects of drugs.

There are others kinds too, ones that take you places in the human mind that you never thought you could go, or perhaps after going once, never want to go to again. There are ones which wake you up, ones which make you feel rested, even ones that claim sexual stimulation.

Whether or not these tones actually do what they claim, I have yet to prove. I have sampled a few myself, but never for the full length of the dose, and never in the most ideal conditions, and the affects I did feel may have been increased or entirely faked by the placebo affect.

I, however, quite intend to find out. I am going to get my hands on these tones, and run experiments on myself and other volunteers and see what sort of results I get. I'll be updating my blog with my results, when I get them. See how things work out.

This is Waxy, once again, signing off.

You know, I've heard about these too. I can't remember where I saw it (maybe ATS?) but some people were accusing Michael Phelps of using these, solely because he was listening to his iPod before every race at the Olympics in Beijing. It seemed sort of silly to me, but the website had tones for sale that claimed to simulate performance-enhancing drugs. Talk about being hard to regulate! Could these even be made illegal? Would we want to?

Whoa, that is most interesting! Like freenina said how could you regulate something like this if it is true? Music has an effect on me like a drug I guess if I were to liken it too that... for instance, when running if I do not have my IPod then I seem to not run as far as when I do. I couldn't even begin to tell you why, unless it changes something chemically or electrically in my body when a certain beat is produced...

Definitely keep us in the loop on this Waxy! I may even be up to helping test this theory.

Actually just finished sampling one called "Ecstasy" and I don't know if it had the intended affect or not, but it certainly had an affect, lol.

Afterward my hearing was muffled, I was/am lightheaded and now my sinuses are starting to feel weird. After I listened to it I also found that I was sweating, despite the fact that it wasn't really uncomfortably warm.

My head is starting to hurt and I think I might need to grab some tylenol or something to help. And I also seem to be hungry now, when I wasn't before. Certainly odd, though not as mysterious as it might seem.
I know how it did the dizzy part, because when I started to judge the way the sound warbled as if it was coming from a stick someone had behind my head, I discovered that it was moving back and forth exceedingly fast. Since my eyes were closed, my inner ear assumed that my head was swinging back and forth at that speed.

It was a very interesting, though partially unpleasant test. Moving on to the next one, lol.

When I worked tech support for ethostream a while back, a buddy of mine gave me Idozer. It is weird to say the least. They work for some people but not all. I have had it work for me, it is weird.
You need to listen with very high quality headphones. You need to be in a very very relaxed state of mind, and you have to prepare yourself as you would if meditating. Gee, I wish I still had the package I had. It is really cool, I tried Mushrooms, it was quite powerful. It is weird though, hisses, pops and tones. Really puts into perspective how connected to math we are and how we kinda work like computers how our body reacts to frequencies. My hs music teacher told me of some low tones that will make you poop. Kind of funny. I remember reading online about how classical music changes things in peoples minds. Apparently they changed the key or something that instruments are tuned to or something after the age of Mozart and Bach. Anybody know about this? I've read that music is the key to the mind. Any insight?
